I've been wanting to plan my first styled session for a while now, but couldn't narrow down the theme. While out and about around the town searching for inspiration, I finally decided to do a styled session inspired by The Woodlands. Katrina, a dancer and now model, and I had the most amazing time capturing images for the "Woodland Bride" styled session.
I wanted the session to reflect natural tones with a bold twist. I envisioned elegance and timeless beauty in a very natural setting, and selected a state forest in The Woodlands area to capture it.
Katrina was the "Woodland Bride"! She's a University of Houston alumna with a passion for dance, that I met during my time as an undergrad studying at UH. At first I was reluctant to reach out to Katrina, but I knew if I truly wanted to see my vision come to life, I'd have to take the initiative and risk coming off as a creep. Luckily for me, Katrina was a bliss to work with and totally understood what I had planned. Her beautiful bronze and coffee skin coupled with bright flowers and earthy tones were the perfect match.
We began the session late in the evening and did have to work a little harder with the light. Which is where improvising comes into place, but it was all worth it in the end. I definitely look forward to collaborating with more vendors for creative, styled sessions in the future. If you are a vendor looking to collaborate, feel free to send me an email.
